Why I make wine

Working in agriculture has always been in my nature. I have the opportunity to follow my vines all year round. This is a great fortune, in this way I am able to improve myself and realise my ideas. Respectful work in the vineyard allows me to create wines that are strongly linked to their origin. This is the art of making wine: letting the wine be what it is.

FOR ME

the most important thing in wine

Widmann Wine wants to create a place of lightness. A glass conveys serenity and pleasure. My wines are excellent food companions and brighten up a social get-together.

WINE IS

a never-ending journey

I have been to many wine regions. And one thing is clear: wine tastes different in every place, and that's a good thing. Different experiences have shaped my wine style. You are constantly trying new things and realising what suits you best. Today, I feel that my wines suit me and my nature. And tomorrow?

Capturing & bottling moments

WINE AS

a Memory

At the end of a wine-growing season, there stands a bottle of wine on the table. As a winemaker, you feel like you've summed up and bottled all the things you've experienced. Others write diaries or take photos to remember. We produce wine. A bottle is like a written diary - a collection of memories. Moments that you remember, even if you open it after years.
